Is Bad Bunny a Good Example?

By now, I'm pretty sure you've heard of Bad Bunny, whether you wanted to or not.

Every year I'm repeatedly astonished by the amount of press coverage and conversation generated by a 15 minute Super Bowl halftime show - which incredibly seems to be more impactful than the football game itself.

Don't worry, I'm not writing another cultural thinkpiece on the meaning or impact of Bad Bunny's performance.

Instead, I want to draw attention to what every one of us as creators has to wrestle with - our desire to be relevant.

Like it or not, the Super Bowl planners have mastered the art of grabbing the attention of the culture by highlighting artists that get people talking.

And while it's not our goal to become lightning-rods of controversy, our creative work should be something we AND those who connect with us are passionate about.

Over and over again in Scripture, prophets and disciples did some pretty outlandish things based on their obedience to God's command.

They weren't doing it to get likes or views. They knew that following God closely would be noticed, and they always found a way to point that attention back to God.

Your creative work may not be on a scale of a Super Bowl halftime show, but you should invest just as much intention and purpose into making each thing you do memorable and remarkable.

Because you have a bigger purpose to fulfill.

Divine Attention to Details As we step into this year's celebration of the risen Savior, one thought has been echoing in my mind. Jesus had the most important mission of all time - which meant He had the most potential distractions of anyone who ever lived. Any missed moment, lapse of judgement, or wasted opportunity could have potentially knocked Him off course on His way to fulfill God's purpose. And yet, He didn't let a single ball drop. He took care of His family, even in His dying...

God and Gigs 360 Gold (Presentation (16:9))

Only one question This is a different kind of "Creator Checkup"... ..because I'm the one that needs checking on. I'm sending you this in the midst of the recovery period after a tough two weeks with my family. And while I know everyone in our community is facing something...it's important that I'm open and honest with you. Because it doesn't make sense to call this a "Checkup" if we don't admit when things are going right and when things are going wrong. My wife and I use this method all the...

Just how many hats are you wearing? I don't mean fedoras, sombreros or trucker hats, of course. I'm referring the metaphorical 'hats' that we all wear in our different roles, both in our creative work and in our families and personal lives. I experienced the hat-switching at a brand new level just this week, as I found myself coordinating a band for an artist 400 miles away, while simultaneously working on our church's podcast recording and publishing. Surely this is a sign of potential...
