Vital Signs - The Struggle to Find Time to Create

Less than 90 days left in 2025? Where did the time go?

With so many things crowding your life, projects and ideas you thought you'd get to, and the daily responsibilities you have to handle - you're in a constant race against the clock.

In fact, some of us even thrive on deadlines - it gives us that little push needed to finally get moving.

But under all that - you may feel a frustration / desperation.

Because the clock always seems to win before you can get to the things that really move your heart and spirit.

Creativity is rarely urgent - but it is vitally important.

When Moses met God on the mountain in Exodus, he stayed for 40 days and 40 nights receiving the instructions from God on how to guide the nation of Israel and getting the details on how to build the Tabernacle.

During that time, the Israelites who were left below at the foot of the mountain got impatient. They didn't see any results, and they decided to take matters into their own hands - with disastrous results.

God doesn't want you desperate - He wants you dependent on Him and His rhythms for creative guidance.

Realize today that your creative flow must be yielded to God, but that it also should have an honored place and space in your daily schedule.

If you're having trouble finding the "right time" to move forward with your creative plans, check out "The Creator's Timing", our YouVersion reading plan.

More Resources to Improve Your Creator Lifestyle

Lab Work - Don't Lose Your Community!

Social media has fooled us.

No matter how many YouTube subscribers, Instagram followers, or Facebook friends you have - unless you have a place where people can connect with you outside of social media, you're in danger of becoming isolated as a creator.

Just one issue with a social networking account can erase your connections in seconds.

To keep that from happening, every creator in every niche should be building an email list and building connections with your community on and off-line.

How do you do that?

Here at God and Gigs, we've used Kit to build landing pages that offer relevant resources to our community - and they've been effective for years.

In fact, you might be reading this because you found one of our landing pages.

If you've never built one and started connecting with your followers through email, it's super easy on Kit.

You can get started with a free account up to 10,000 subscribers and use one of dozens of templates that are simple to edit and tailor to your brand and platform.

Tap HERE to start building your landing page and finally gaining control of your community connections.

The Consult - Be Honest About Obstacles

Facing your obstacles is the first step to actually overcoming them - but many times we're afraid to admit what's keeping us from winning.

Psalms 51:6 shares how David knew God wanted him to simply be open and honest about what was going on in his heart - and sometimes that means admitting we don't feel equipped or worthy.

So in the poll below, share what you feel is blocking you right now.

If these answers don't fit your biggest challenge, reply in an email so we can find resources to help you!

Prescriptions - Sharing The Word With Friends

We've now reached over 1,000 completed YouVersion reading plans!

Thank you for joining us in reading our plans and sharing them with your friends. Each time a creator finds, reads, and completes a plan, it blesses them and helps us get the word out to the YouVersion community.

Would you share this link - godandgigs.com/youversion - with someone today who needs Biblical support for their creative lifestyle? It would be so appreciated!

That's all for now!

As always, continue to become the creator God created you to be.

Gratefully,

Allen

Divine Attention to Details As we step into this year's celebration of the risen Savior, one thought has been echoing in my mind. Jesus had the most important mission of all time - which meant He had the most potential distractions of anyone who ever lived. Any missed moment, lapse of judgement, or wasted opportunity could have potentially knocked Him off course on His way to fulfill God's purpose. And yet, He didn't let a single ball drop. He took care of His family, even in His dying...

God and Gigs 360 Gold (Presentation (16:9))

Only one question This is a different kind of "Creator Checkup"... ..because I'm the one that needs checking on. I'm sending you this in the midst of the recovery period after a tough two weeks with my family. And while I know everyone in our community is facing something...it's important that I'm open and honest with you. Because it doesn't make sense to call this a "Checkup" if we don't admit when things are going right and when things are going wrong. My wife and I use this method all the...

Just how many hats are you wearing? I don't mean fedoras, sombreros or trucker hats, of course. I'm referring the metaphorical 'hats' that we all wear in our different roles, both in our creative work and in our families and personal lives. I experienced the hat-switching at a brand new level just this week, as I found myself coordinating a band for an artist 400 miles away, while simultaneously working on our church's podcast recording and publishing. Surely this is a sign of potential...
