Without this ONE thing, 2026 will be a failure

The Creator's Checkup

Helping You Become the Creator You Were Created to Be

The One Thing That Matters

I can't take credit for this insight, as I overheard one of our church's leaders sharing it.

But this left an impact on me.

He and other members of our church leadership were discussing what made David different than all of the other kings in the Old Testament.

He had some of the greatest moral failures recorded in the Bible. His pride and disobedience led to the deaths of innocent men, women and children.

Yet, he is considered a role model for us as Christians, specifically because God said he was a man after His own heart.

Meanwhile, other kings won major battles and achieved great things. But none of them were as celebrated as David, nor as devoted to God.

What was the one thing that was different?

While David made major mistakes, he never failed to return to God in repentance. His highest priority was always pleasing His Heavenly Father, and learning how to follow Him more completely.

I wonder - are we setting up the highest priority for 2026 the same way David did?

While we prepare for a new year with new goals, let's not forget David's words in Psalm 27:4.

[Psa 27:4 KJV] 4 One [thing] have I desired of the LORD, that will I seek after; that I may dwell in the house of the LORD all the days of my life, to behold the beauty of the LORD, and to enquire in his temple.

Make your ONE thing following God, and He'll help you figure out how to design a fulfilling creator lifestyle that will bring Him glory and bring you joy.

Divine Attention to Details As we step into this year's celebration of the risen Savior, one thought has been echoing in my mind. Jesus had the most important mission of all time - which meant He had the most potential distractions of anyone who ever lived. Any missed moment, lapse of judgement, or wasted opportunity could have potentially knocked Him off course on His way to fulfill God's purpose. And yet, He didn't let a single ball drop. He took care of His family, even in His dying...

God and Gigs 360 Gold (Presentation (16:9))

Only one question This is a different kind of "Creator Checkup"... ..because I'm the one that needs checking on. I'm sending you this in the midst of the recovery period after a tough two weeks with my family. And while I know everyone in our community is facing something...it's important that I'm open and honest with you. Because it doesn't make sense to call this a "Checkup" if we don't admit when things are going right and when things are going wrong. My wife and I use this method all the...

Just how many hats are you wearing? I don't mean fedoras, sombreros or trucker hats, of course. I'm referring the metaphorical 'hats' that we all wear in our different roles, both in our creative work and in our families and personal lives. I experienced the hat-switching at a brand new level just this week, as I found myself coordinating a band for an artist 400 miles away, while simultaneously working on our church's podcast recording and publishing. Surely this is a sign of potential...
