Has God Finished Creating?

If you're new to our community, you might start noticing that we spend a LOT of time in God and Gigs thinking about how God creates.

After all, our Ultimate Creator is our blueprint.

But it's sometimes hard to connect the dots between what you do every day as a developing creator, and what God does with His infinite power.

Consider this - the God who made everything in the six creation days of Genesis (we're not arguing here about literal vs. figurative), and then rested on the seventh, seems to have done all his work.

He called it "Good", and that's the last we hear of the natural process of creation.

But does that mean He was finished?

Hardly. But now the creation shifts from creating the earth, to creating something in you and I - His children.

In Psalms 51, after realizing his desperate need for forgiveness, David cries out to God to create a clean heart within him.

In Jeremiah, the prophet states that God will create the environment for restoration and reconciliation between His people and Himself.

And in Ephesians 2, Scripture says that Jesus himself created the way to the Father by following God perfectly and setting aside the power of the law's condemnation.

In each of these creative acts, there wasn't a focus on making new things. It was making US new.

Here's the beautiful takeaway - as we learn to follow God and use our creative gifts for Him, he's using the same process to re-create us and form us into His likeness.

What does that mean for you today? It means the work isn't finished. Neither yours nor God's. You can push forward with your creative dreams with confidence knowing that your story is continuing to be written and lived out.

And while you're creating for Him, He's creating a new version of you.
