This is PROOF That A Change is Needed

You know that sinking feeling when you realize that things aren't turning out the way you thought they would?

That was my feeling this week, as I thought about promoting our Saturday Creator Business Deep Dive and continuing our workshop series for our Creator Resource Center.

More and more, I've been noticing that our community is seeking out content related to faith and following God's direction for our creator lives.

I don't believe this means I should stop sharing the practical and business aspects of being a faith-focused, Christian creator. It's super important that we know how to manage our careers, relationships and lifestyles, so that we all can become the creators God created us to be.

However, it did feel out of place to heavily promote a workshop on business when you might not be interested in that topic.

So, I decided to keep the Deep Dive on the calendar for those who want to attend - but I'm not doing any big push on social media. Those in the membership, and you as a Creator Checkup subscriber, are the only ones getting these reminders.

I hope you'll feel the same freedom to follow your own pace and run your own race as a creator. It won't look like everyone else's creator lifestyle, and that's OK.

God has a specific creator lifestyle designed just for you. Seek His face and His direction to follow it. We'll be here to provide the resources you need to see it through - in any capacity that turns out to be.

Remember, if you have felt your unique creative calling includes building a creator business, you want to join our Creator Business Deep Dive so you can avoid the stress and strain of figuring out the business basics yourself. Get more info on how to claim a spot here.

I am still as strong today as the day Moses sent me out; I'm just as vigorous to go out to battle now as I was then. Joshua 14:11 NIV Do you have a favorite mug or cup? If so, you know how satisfying it is to sip your favorite beverage in that special container that speaks to you. I have several coffee mugs that have all the silly puns written on them you'd expect..."not until I've had my coffee, etc" - but there's one I've had to retire from use. It has three words that I don't want to add...

Are you your own worst critic? And should you be? Nothing can make you more critical of yourself than subjecting work to being reviewed and edited, which is the process I'm now undergoing with our devotional Your Art, God's Heart. It was 8 years ago that I first published it, and while I'm grateful for the impact it's had, I've always had a feeling that it could be improved. So, I've taken on the goal of doing a 2nd edition - which will be freely available on the YouVersion app in the next...

I read the post and couldn't tap "repost" fast enough. While scrolling Facebook trying not to get stuck in the thousands of "documentary" memes (if you haven't seen this trend, be thankful), I saw an amazing discussion from worship leader, choir director and former guest on our podcast Meachum Lamar Clarke. He is constantly sharing great insights about being a creative in the church world, but I needed to see this specific one. In it, he explains how several church music conferences were...
